Overstimulating Matt seems to always work out and Frank knows what buttons to push by now, having made him come countless times at this point in their relationship, fuzzy as it may be at times. That smile says it all and it burns a hunger in Frank too, knowing he's enjoying it, that he wants this.
His hand strokes Matt through it when he spills over and Frank isn't too far behind him, pressing low groans into Matt's skin as his hips roughly buck forward and he shudders into him. He breathes hard against Matt as he nuzzles into the new mark on his neck, grinding into him just to tease him with the sensitivity.
"Record time, I think," he can't help but comment, smiling into his skin.
There's an inhale of breath and his muscles twitch in protest at any more stimulation, but Matt doesn't seem to mind it. He leans his weight against the wall, catching his breath and letting out a half-hearted laugh.
"Maybe you just weren't trying hard enough before."
Or maybe a year apart took away any self-control they might have had before. Matt's not going to split hairs. When he feels like he has some control of his legs again he nudges Frank back so he can turn around, pressing a hand to Frank's chest to feel the rise-and-fall of his breathing.
Frank's heart is still racing a bit by the time Matt turns around but he feels far more relaxed as well, smiling at Matt and how at ease he looks now. Hands come around his body to hold him close, one pressing into the big bruise he saw earlier.
"Sue me," he retorts stupidly, leaning in to kiss him on the lips slow and easy. "I came here to see how you were handling shit. I guess really well, huh?"
God, he's relieved that Matt caved in at last, and maybe that's wrong of him to enable this behavior, but Frank's never been of the mindset that Matt should stop. He needs this. Needs the bloody fists and adrenaline and sense of justice. He didn't go over the line, even if the temptation was there.
Hands caress over his ass as he moves them so Matt's under the spray to rinse off, tipping his head back and watching him fondly. He has no idea if Matt can tell when he does that.
"You're already thinking about doing it again, aren't you?" Whether he means sex or a fight is unclear.
That gets a real laugh from Matt, unashamed at being called out so easily. It's one thing he knew about Frank right away, that the man can read people and clock them in an instant. It probably doesn't help Matt's case that they have eight years of familiarity.
"Sue me," he says, grinning up into the spray of the shower.
Even Frank can't stop grinning at the reaction, in a good mood for once, rare and indulgent. He'll take it while it lasts. Besides, it's good seeing Matt in a good mood too.
Frank rinses off too, pushing hands back through his hair - shorter now, no longer long and unkempt - and then he's brushing his hands down Matt's front too, clocking any new bruises that weren't because of him.
"You need help finishing the job?" he asks, curious, because he didn't hear any reports of the guy actually getting caught. "Or finding him, at least."
Matt raises his eyebrows. He shuts turns off the shower, stepping out to grab a towel for himself before throwing one at Frank.
"I thought you didn't want to get involved."
Not that he's saying no, and Muse probably deserves to be on the receiving end of Frank's gun more than most people, but he hasn't forgotten Frank's dismissal of him a few days ago.
Frank's right about that, at least. He'll let the bad day comment slide, if only to avoid an unnecessary fight when they're in good moods.
"Fisk isn't going to be happy," he says. He doesn't really give a shit if Fisk is happy or not, but he's aware he opened a new can of worms for himself - and Frank - by putting on the suit again. "We, uh, had a talk after his election."
"When is he ever?" he counters, though thinking of Wilson Fisk after he just fucked his sort-of boyfriend (ugh) is the last thing he wants. Still, it's inevitable. The man is like a tumor attached to the city permanently.
The mention that Matt spoke with him though is intriguing and Frank rolls up his towel to rest around his shoulders before he asks: "How'd that go?"
Frank does his part in flopping his naked ass down onto Matt's soft bed, getting comfortable back against the pillows. He hasn't slept all night and it's morning now, so he's definitely due for a nap. He's got a nice view right now though so he's not letting his eyes close yet, gaze fixed Matt's body from his perch.
"Ha, yeah. Piece of shit," he says with a dismissive scoff. "A criminal stuffed in a suit with his own mask on. You'd think people would've seen right through it."
Most most people are actually idiots.
"You're not alone," he confirms, sitting up a little straighter. "Not this time. Not when my shit got dragged into this somehow too."
"That's what I love about you, Frank, you're always there when I need you."
He adjusts his alarm to go off a little later than usual, then he slides into bed as well. Matt sighs as he settles in, reaching over to run his fingers along Frank's thigh.
"There's still time to go again, you know" he says, after a moment, unable to contain his smirk.
There is no way that Matt can miss the sudden flutter and rising heartrate that hits the moment Matt's words register, and not because he's suggesting another round. Maybe it was an insignificant and real moment for Matt, something honest, but it slips through and hits Frank's nerve endings like wildfire.
It's an instantaneous reaction, one he can't even consciously process at first, but once he does he feels panic rise in his chest. He tamps it down though, knowing Matt can feel even that much, and tries to aim for the other statement:
"Yeah. I knew it... already looking for more." A jest that comes out a little awkward, Frank trying desperately not to make this a big deal as his body betrays his efforts.
Frank's right, though, Matt catches everything that Frank's trying to hide. They're too close for Matt to miss it, Matt too focused on Frank to even pretend he might be mistaking something. And he respects Frank too much to feign ignorance.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to ..." Didn't mean to what? When has Frank ever been the Prudish or nervous type? "Is everything okay?"
Saying everything is fine would be a lie that Frank would get caught in immediately because he knows there is no point in lying to Matt either, so he doesn't. Matt doesn't even realize what he said so maybe it didn't actually mean anything after all and Frank needs to fucking chill.
"You just caught me off guard," he admits after a moment of silence, his hand reaching for Matt's on his leg to grasp because he doesn't want to ruin the moment otherwise. His thumb brushes over bruised knuckles restlessly. "Never heard you say that."
Obviously not that he wants more sex. He's heard that plenty.
Frank grumbles a low sound of annoyance because leave it to Murdock to deflect when push comes to shove, but it only further proves that yeah, maybe Frank is overreacting. Triggered doesn't even begin to cover it.
He tugs on Matt's hand and thus his arm to pull him down closer again.
"Just forget it," he decides, choosing to also deflect this time around. "We were having a good moment."
He should know by now that there's no way Matt's going to just forget it, but Frank's right, they were having a good time. It's just that Matt's top skill is ruining good moments.
Matt lets himself be tugged down, taking Frank's hand and absently winding their fingers together.
"I bet you're cute when you get flustered like that."
It's tempting to push and prod, but deep down inside, Frank knows he's had it down bad for a while now too. They're utterly lying to themselves if they claim otherwise, and while he hadn't ever wanted to fall for anyone else after Maria, this shit just... happens. As if they haven't been "together" for years. As if they're not a real item even if they refuse to label it.
They're naked in bed together holding fucking hands.
"Shut up," he sighs, kicking him playfully before tugging him even closer by the hand, scooting over too so he can lean in and kiss him. "And yeah, maybe I do like the validation."
Frank rolls on top easily, liking when Matt wants him close like this, and it's not often they get to just lounge around in bed together. Frank leans down to rub his scruffy cheek against Matt's on purpose, just to let him feel the stubble.
"I thought you'd like it," he says before kissing his neck instead. "Still enough to grab onto just for you."
Matt does to touch and feel, largely in part due to being blind but he likes the intimacy and comfort that can come with touching another person, casually or otherwise.
"Guess that conversation the other night woke both of us up," he murmurs, walking his fingers along Frank's shoulders to find the familiar lines of muscle and scars.
Frank leans more of his weight on top of Matt but with the position he shifts to get between his legs too. The fingers on his shoulders are nice and Frank hums, taking a deep breath.
"I guess so," he admits quietly, lips pressing to Matt's jaw. "But I like this. Like this side of you. All of it."
